Once you have administered and scored the CRI, you are ready to input information into the ASII program. Your scoring need not be exhaustive because the program will calculate many values automatically. For example, you will not find it necessary to calculate a percentage score for the Word Lists, but simply have available the number of miscues that a student made at each grade level. You will not need to calculate the RAI and MMI, but rather you will need to have tallied the miscues marked with plus signs and zeroes. You will not need to calculate a score for a retelling, but rather know what elements of the rubric are present or absent in the child’s retelling. Needless to say, the more familiar you become with the features of the ASII, the less work you will have to do to prepare reports for the students you have tested.
